

In his short life he accomplished so many goals. By age 9, he was a second-degree black belt in taekwondo and was a long time member of Tiger Im’s Martial Arts demonstration team. At Quantico Elementary, he served on the Safety Patrol from 4th to 5th grade. At Stafford Middle, he was active in after-school activities including Theater and Strategies Club. His penchant for after-school activities continued as he entered Stafford High School. He joined the NJROTC Indian Company and immediately engulfed himself in the Color Guard in which he rose to the rank of Color Guard Commander. He eventually rose to the rank of Cadet Senior Chief in his senior year. He was also Vice President of the Chess Club and recently placed second in their last tournament.
In his sophomore year, he attended Sailing Academy in Virginia Beach, VA and attended Boys State at Radford, VA in his junior year where he persistently ran for various positions until he finally accomplished obtaining the role of Tax Collector. He showcased his talent of playing the ocarina at their talent show where he had the audience singing and holding up their cell phones by the time he finished playing his song. He received a standing ovation.
Brandon was an accomplished dancer. Starting with tap dancing he eventually found his love for ballroom dancing. It’s where he found his obsession with dressing up in suits. He felt good wearing them and collected many. He loved music and playing musical instruments. He was learning to play the ocarina, flute, guitar, keyboard and kalimba. He was an intelligent young man who enjoyed puzzles and engineering projects. He wanted to pursue a career in drafting and architecture after high school.
He was very good at playing video games and strategy games from the Wii to the XBox and computer.
Brandon loved his little brother, Jason, and they enjoyed being with each other and spending time playing together. He showed him so much affection and was an exceptional role model for him. He was also a very supportive younger brother to his sister Courtney. He brought much laughter and joy to his parents who were constantly amazed by him.
Brandon left a vacuum in this world after his passing.
He is survived by his parents Christopher and Jennifer Smith, his older sister Courtney and her fiancee Mark Reyes, his younger brother Jason and finally NJROTC Indian Company at Stafford High School.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
