Hey Poppop. It’s been about 11 years since you’ve passed and it hasn’t gotten any easier. You have Nana with you now, but it makes it a bit harder down here on Earth for the rest of us. I still watch the Maury show and try to go bowling every once in a while. I miss you more and more with each Johnny Cash song. I love you forever and always.

I can top everyone who has so far written a condolence.  I knew my "Uncle" Charles for my "entire" life.  He married my Aunt Grace, who I have always called simply "Chrissie," the year I was born.  We enjoyed many family gatherings and experiences over the years, from a vacation to Daytona Beach, Florida, during 1956, to Thanksgiving Dinner, at Gaithersburg, MD, in 2013.  He will be sorely missed by our entire family.

I send my deepest condolences to the family.  I knew Chuck for a long time,  he worked with my pop at the Dept. Of Treasurey and Engraving.  Loved listening to his Wonderful times that they shared. Well respected man. Going to miss him! Rest in Peace!

I've known Charles all my life, since I was 4 or 5.  He always seemed to be happy, enjoyed life to the fullest.  He also was a very generous soul and had a big heart.  I will miss him greatly.  He was a hard worker, a great family man and a great brother in law. Tons of good memories.

Well, I guess I'm old enough now to call you "Charlie," as did your friends and adult neighbors in Birchwood City all those years ago (though it really doesn't seem so distant). "Charlie"...a friendly name for a friendly guy. I know you had a great life, raising your children Debbie, Chuck and Rick (and then being a grandfather) and with Grace by your side the whole time. My thoughts are with them, and especially with your wife who will see better days. It's funny, I can still see you and Grace socializing in your backyard with my parents and others, with your preferred Miller beer in hand; and I remember your contentment watching your kids and others play ball in that same yard, which, by the way, had the best manicured lawn in the neighborhood. (By the way Charlie, I drove through Birchwood the other week and noticed the Zoysia grass you planted in the '60s is still thick, lush and green. You did one helluva job all those years ago.)

I have nothing but fond memories of Mr. Longerbeam.  He was such a kind gentle man who was like a second father while hanger out with his son Rick, my childhood best friend and next door neighbor.  I know he was a model father, husband and grandfather who will be dearly missed by so many.  My deepest thoughts are with Rick, Debbie and Chuck during this most difficult time.  My condolences also go out to Mrs. Grace Longerbeam on the loss of her husband.  I wish her improved health in the coming days and weeks and ultimately the return to a good and enjoyable quality of life.
