Charles Edward “Eddie” Seay, Jr. of Tappahannock, formerly of Warsaw, as he would have said, “kicked the bucket,” at VCU on March 6, 2026. Yes, Eddie’s wit was dry, and he really appreciated his own humor … probably more than his friends and family, his favorite targets. Eddie was born on Christmas day, 1954. He was seventy-one. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Edward Seay, Sr. and Mary Louise Holt Seay, as well as his sister, Betty Louise Seay. He is survived by his sister, Charlotte. Eddie was a tradesman and eventually a school bus driver for Northumberland County before his retirement. Eddie spent the last months of his life at Carrington Place/Essex Manor, Tappahannock, where he was lovingly cared for by the staff, a fact for which his family is eternally grateful. He always appreciated his church family, Beulah Baptist Church, Lyells, for their love and support. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 20, at the Beulah Church cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Kevin S. Crowder officiating. The family thanks the Rev. Ray Tubbs and Beulah, Mullin & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, and Micah Ecumenical Ministries for assistance with the arrangements. The family requests that donations in Eddie’s memory be made to Micah Ecumenical Ministries, Fredericksburg, or to the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
