

He was a North Carolina Wesleyan graduate of 1970. He retired as a social studies teacher, working for King George Middle School, Lancaster, North Stafford, and Brooke Point High School. He was most proud of his cross country teams at North Stafford.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; two children, Donald Kord Crawford and wife, Jessi of Manteo, NC and Katherine Elizabeth Spain and husband, Gordon of Spotsylvania; grandchildren, Austin Lawrence Crawford Spain and Mattox Lee Crawford Spain; two sisters, Sandy Crawford Williams and Husband, Ralph and Tina Ewing Dickinson and husband, Robert both of Spotsylvania; a special cousin, Linda Powell and husband, Mitchell of Spotsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Theresa Ewing; a special uncle and aunt, Lloyd and Audrey McGhee and grandson, Blake Lawrence Crawford Spain.
A memorial service will be held at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 5:00 PM, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
