Hector “Vic” Federico, 85 of Spotsylvania passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Friday, April 17, 2015. He served in the US Navy and had a long and successful career as a radio broadcast technician, including 17 years working for 1010 WINS News Radio in New York City. He spent 27 with the Voice of America in Washington DC, with a two-year overseas assignment in Botswana. He received numerous commendations for outstanding service up through his retirement at age 80.
He is survived by three daughters Mary Federico, Gloria Federico and Felicia Federico, and sister, Gloria Meehan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maureen Federico.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel at 3:00 pm, with the family receiving friends from 12-3:00 pm, prior to the service. Interment will be private.
