He was born on October 31, 1956, in Arlington, VA to the late Henry Martin Wilson, Sr. and Norma (Mullen) Wilson.
Marty was a mechanic in his early years and grew that into a life long commitment in the Automotive service industry. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Marty was a devoted family man, who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a beloved husband to Bonnie, and a devoted father to Kristy and Kerri. He had a special place in his heart and on his lap for their furry companion Taco. His positive qualities made him a cherished and loyal friend to many. He enjoyed being on the water. Vacations at Smith Mountain Lake with family and friends brought him joy and relaxation.
Marty is predeceased by his parents and one sister, JoAnn Howdershell. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bonnie Wilson; two daughters: Kristy Wilson White (Eric) and Kerri Wilson; two brothers: David Wilson and Chris Wilson (Johanna); one sister, Sue Myers; five grandchildren: Bryan, Kathryn, Jayden, Jordan and Liliana; two great grandchildren: Karter and Kyrie. Marty is also survived by his two loving sisters-in-laws, Connie Law and Donna Burkitt, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.
