Nécrologie de James Homer Jenkins
James Homer Jenkins, of King George, Virginia, was born on December 25, 1955, in Snow Hill, MD. He was called home into the loving arms of the Lord on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. James, Jimmy or Jenco as he was affectionately known by many, was the son of the late Theodore Jenkins, Jr. and Doretha Shockley Jenkins. James was graduate of Snow Hill High School, later served in the United States Army with the 30th Engineer Battalion and 82nd Airborne Division. He was stationed in Germany for much of his time in service. Returning to civilian life in Virginia, he began his career as an extraordinarily talented automotive and heavy duty diesel technician. Most recently, James was the Co-Founder and Owner of Jenco Services Mobile Truck Repair. With his God gifted talent he was a blessing over the past 13 years to many stranded truck drivers and RV families traveling on the local roads and highways. James touched and earned a special place in many hearts, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to have known him. He’s been described by some as one of a kind, a true gentleman, hardworking, caring, a genuine man, a big brother and an anchor of support. One of James' true passions in life was coaching little league sports, particularly football. While both of James' sons were standout athletes, he did not have the self serving attitude many other coaches have when coaching their sons. James truly cared about all of the players. The welfare of the kids was just as important to him as their athletic abilities. His compassion and love for the kids had a very positive and long-lasting impact on their lives and was influential in a lot of those boys growing up to be outstanding young men. He had a zest for life, an infectious smile and personality which he used to keep everyone around him laughing to tears and they never know what he would say next. There was never a dull moment when he was present and he brightened every day. James loved his immediate and extended family above all, his closest and dear friends, his beautiful dogs, hot rods, music, dancing and never passed up an occasion to request from his family, their homemade chicken and dumplings. He was a special soul who will be utterly missed on this earth. Memories of James will perpetuate by those he left behind: his sons, Donell Jenkins, Terrance Jenkins, a loving life partner of 15 years, Alicia Colletti, three brothers, Virgil Jenkins, Jerome Jenkins and Maurice Jackson, four sisters Diane Jenkins, Debora Cottman, Pamela Jenkins, and Veronica Fisher along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his beloved parents and sisters Doris Lee Shockley, Patricia Ann Jenkins and Selena Joyce Jenkins.
