He is survived by his daughter Joan Pope and her husband Richard Lewis of Stafford; son, Sydney Pope and his wife Kathy of Alexandria; two grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Pope, a brother, Anthony Pope of New Jersey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, from 6-8 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 31, 2012 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
