Johnnie Mae Starks

Johnie Mae Robinson-Starks was born to Mozella Mays and A.P. Powell (biological father) and Robert Mays, who raised her as his own. She was born September 8, 1924 in Willa, Florida and reared in Lacoochee, Florida. Johnnie Mae attended public school in Pasco County. She met and married Charles S. Robinson (deceased) in 1942 and to this union a daughter was born, Joann Williams (deceased). Later in life she married Sam Starks (deceased). Johnnie Mae was a vibrant 90 year young granny who loved life. She was a happy and caring individual. At the age of 12 she accepted Christ as her savior and joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Lacoochee, Florida. On August 7, 2015 after a very brief illness, our heavenly father sealed the lips of his loving daughter. Johnnie Mae leaves fond memories with her grandchildren, Debra Bullard of Atlanta, GA, Barbara (Derald) Bryant of Triangle, VA (her caregivers), Albert (Jean) Williams, King George, Raleigh (India, his Fiancee) of Zephyrhills, FL, Jerome III, Karen and Jules Lawson of Miami, FL; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Mays of Tampa, FL and Dorothy and Laura Powell of Miami, FL; one brother, Steve Powell of Miami, FL; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
