Karen was born in Bridgeport, Conn., on Feb. 26, 1940.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jon Collins Sr. She was a loving mother to five children, Jon Collins Jr., Alexis Makely, Karen Chambers, Kevin Collins and Mary Ann Perkins, and is also survived by 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mitzi possessed a generous giving spirit and contributed to the community and her church, where she was a member and teacher for the past 35 years.
She made sure to attend all her children's activities and touched so many others, which was so apparent by those who spoke at her funeral service.
She will be greatly missed by not only her family but by her church family and all those she touched.
