

Born on January 7, 1970, in Amsterdam, NY, Kevin was the beloved son of Paul Flaherty and a devoted father, brother, and partner. He lived his life with a generous heart, an easy laugh, and a deep love for family and friends.
Kevin will be remembered for his relentless love for the Washington Redskins during the good times and the bad, and his endless work ethic. Whether he was cheering on his favorite team or working on cars, he brought joy and warmth to everyone around him. His greatest pride was his family, and he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
He is survived by his children Jessica Flaherty of Dumfries, VA and Jacob Flaherty of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father Paul Flaherty of Christiansburg, VA, his siblings Chris (Cathy) of Chesapeake, VA, Courtney (Copeland) of Powhatan, VA, Michael (Matt) of Christiansburg, VA and Megan (Philip) of Christiansburg,VA, and his devoted partner of 15+ years, Morica Chesney and her son Brendan, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his mother Judy Flaherty.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Gridiron Club of Auburn High School where his youngest nephews play sports. Kevin played multiple sports as a young athlete and he took great joy in watching his own children play sports as they grew up.
