

Larry was a native of Morningside, Maryland, but settled in the Fredericksburg area, after serving his country with the U.S. Army in Vietnam 1968-1969. During his service, he was awarded Two Bronze Stars with Valor for Bravery.
In 1971, he began his career as a Firefighter with the Fort Belvoir Fire Department, retiring in 2000, as Assistant Chief. He proudly served as a Life Member of the Falmouth Fire Department.
During retirement, he enjoyed dancing with his lovely bride, Donna and others within the Battlefield Boogie Club and the D.C. Hand Dance Club.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Donna L. Bivens, children, Shannon M. Hudson (Eric), and Tracy B. Moran (Jimmy); grandchildren, Austin C. Sullivan (Christina) and Kiptyn D. Moran; and great granddaughter Addilynn Grace Sullivan. He is also survived by brother, Ronald Bivens (Doreen) of Weeki Wachee, Fl. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother Billy Bivens and his youngest grandson, Kellan T. Moran.
A service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
