He was joined the next day by his brother Danny James Cole, 57, of Lusby, Maryland who died from Colon Cancer.
Larry had multiple health issues and was in the hospital in Alexandria, VA. When his body gave in to congested heart failure.
He was born July 12, 1959, in Richlands, VA. To his loving Mother, Wanda Lee McAllister Cole and his coalmining Father, James Edward Cole. Being the middle child, Larry was not old enough to his older Sister Brenda and Brother Gary, and not young enough to his younger brothers Danny and Michael. Needless to say, always a ruckus in the Cole Family and Larry was always in the middle of it.
As the family moved around Larry grew up from Grundy, VA. To Columbus, Ohio, to Caroline and Spotsylvania counties in VA. There in Spotsylvania he met and married Christine Evans. They had two sons and five grandchildren.
Although they divorced, Larry and Christine remained close friends throughout.
He had a love for music, he would drive the family out of the house when practicing on the drums for Band. His Mother was in Love with Elvis so he gained that admiration to the point that when he grew up he would dress up and enter lookalike contests and actually won. He loved a cup of coffee in his hand, any time day or night. But Larry’s greatest love was his Family and friends.
He enjoyed and complained throughout his many years working for Slurry Pavers in Richmond, to driving a cab in Fredericksburg, VA.
Larry leaves behind his son James (Jamie) William Cole, of Fredericksburg, VA, son Christopher Lee Cole, Grandchildren Katelyin, Dieasel, Xydzain, Sable and Leo, all of Manakin- Sabot, VA. His Sister Brenda Cole Adams Powers and her husband Larry, of Shortpump, VA. Brother Gary Edward Cole and his wife Linda, Of Spotsylvania, VA, Aunts Ruth Cole of Obetz, Ohio, Pat Marshall of Woodford, VA, Geraldine Stanley of Spotsylvania, VA, and Carol Grooms of Kannapolis, NC. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Freddy Carter was like a brother to him as he and his sister Sherry was going to be our step siblings as their Father, Marion Carter was engaged to Our Mother when she died from a fatal car accident when she was 42 years old.
A BIG THANK YOU to his two Special friends, Lori Thomas and Karen Curtis that was with him throughout different times in his last years that got him through many difficult health issues.
