Larry Charles Triola, 68, passed away Thursday, April 27th, 2017, after a brief battle with multiple myeloma. Larry is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Mary, and his three children, Shannon, Christopher, and Lauren. He was a loving husband and father, and he inspired his family to pursue their dreams and to improve the world.
Born in Houston, Texas, Larry eventually settled in Fredericksburg, Virginia, when his career brought him to the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Virginia. Larry worked as an electrical engineer and held many positions with the Department of Defense during his forty-one years of service, including that of Director of Science and Technology at Dahlgren. A long-time member of the World Futures Society, Larry was a Futurist who continually urged his colleagues to think about the long term and to do what they could to leave a positive legacy. With his dedication to making the world a better place, it is not surprising that Larry was also very devoted to charitable giving, supporting many charities for decades.
Larry's funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 5th, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to one of his favorite charities, Running Strong for American Indian Youth, http://indianyouth.org/ , or to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, https://www. themmrf.org/donate-to-mmrf/.
