Linda Foster Tucker

Born February 22, 1941, the daughter of George and Carolyn Henris Foster of Sheridan, NY, Linda graduated from Silver Creek Central School in 1959, and continued her education at Marjorie Webster Junior College in Maryland.

Linda was the wife of Captain Tracy Clark Tucker, whom she married June 10, 1961. Throughout her husband’s career, Linda was the consummate Navy wife, making a comfortable and inviting home in more than twelve different places with her favorite being Charleston, S.C. She took pleasure in entertaining friends and family wherever they were stationed. As her children grew, Linda worked outside the home in retail clothing sales and management. She thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing, and was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Lauren T. Dash of Fairfax Va.; one son, William C. Tucker (Tamara) of Ruckersville, Va.; sisters-in-law Jan (Nelson) Meadows and Virginia T. Becker of Sheridan N.Y.; brother-in-law, Ford (Gretchen) Tucker of Brecksville Ohio; and brother-in-law Thomas Culhane of Barrington, R.I. and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband (who died April 18, 1994) she was predeceased by a brother, Donald Foster; and sister-in-law Anne T. Culhane.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax. Memorial donations may be made in her name to American Cancer Society, 124 Park St. SE, Vienna VA 22180, 703/ 938-5550.
