She was born in Nayarit, Mexico on May 16, 1938. When she was only 24 years old she moved to California where she raised her children and spent the majority of her life planting her roots.
Cooking was one of the ways she expressed her love for both cooking and her family. Everyone loved her food, she was an excellent cook! Getting a home cooked meal from her was something we all looked forward to. Maria also enjoyed gardening, she could make just about anything grow. Dancing, when she still could, going to church on Sundays and reading her Bible were all things she enjoyed as well. Most importantly, she did love to just be around her family and it is safe to say, it is a big one!
She is survived by children Juan (Manny), Esperanza (Hope), Angel, Oscar, Maria (Chiquis), and Jaime. She has a total of 26 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. A reception will be held at the home of Ruth Price at 4109 Glouster Ln in Fredericksburg, Va. afterward.
