Michael Wayne Barr

Michael was born on April 2,1968 in Arlington, Virginia to Elwood Paxton Barr and Margaret Elizabeth Barr. Michael (Mike) worked as a Flooring Installer for most of his life. He was known for being a hard worker and a family man. He enjoyed the outdoors and he loved fishing and hunting. He loved football and he was a diehard Redskins fan.

His memory will live on forever with his wife and soulmate, best friend of 34 years, Gloria Barr; His five daughters; Danielle Barr (Michael Newton) Elizabeth Brooks (Kevin Brooks) Hannah Barr (Brandon Chunn) Alanah and Alyssah. Three grandchildren; Jace Brooks, Trenton Brooks and Sydney Newton. His mother; Margaret Barr; Two Brothers; David Barr and Eddie Barr; One sister; Sharon Owens. A sister in law; Cynthia Mercado (David Mercado). One Grandmother; Nellie Barr and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Barr; his mother and father in law; Richard Moore and Sharon Moore; one sister in law; Teresa Rainey and his nephew, Michael Rainey.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, January 30 from 6-8pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service and the funeral services will take place on Friday, January 31 at 1pm. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Garden following the services. The family welcome friends to gather in a celebration of a wonderful life at 3:30pm at Berea Baptist Church in Stafford County. Michael was the sole provider for his family, his passing was unexpected and if anyone would like to donate to the Barr family, there is a GoFundMe set up in Michael’s honor.
