Michael Lee Santimore

Michael Lee Santimore, 77 of Fredericksburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. He was born on December 3, 1943 in Detroit, MI. He was the only child of the late Michael A. Santimore and Rose Miller. He lived in Monroe, MI where he met his beloved wife, Judy. They later lived in Euless, TX and Smyrna, TN before they moved to Fredericksburg.

Mike served in the Philippines and Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S Air Force from 1964 to 1968. Upon his discharge from military service, Mike worked at American Airlines until he retired after 35 years. He and Judy enjoyed traveling abroad and trips around the states with their lifelong friends.

Mike was a creative man and enjoyed varied hobbies. His family and friends were grateful recipients of his delicious meals and countless beautiful stained-glass creations he crafted throughout the years. Mike enjoyed sports and always encouraged a bit of competitive camaraderie. He was a skilled card and pool player, earning the title pool shark frequently from fellow players. Mike was an avid golfer and achieved many tournament wins, even the coveted trophy of a hole in one!

Mike will be remembered for his sharp wit and living life to the fullest. He loved a good joke, and often a harmless prank. He was a trusted and loyal friend to many and greeted everyone he met with a big smile.

He is the beloved husband of Judy; cherished father of Pam Santimore (Janice Reffitt); and stepbrother of Tim Greashaber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Santimore and Rose Greashaber, stepfather Harold Greashaber and stepsister, Patricia Tidwell.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date.
