The family of Richard Cleary, affectionately known as Ricky or Lolo, is deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of their beloved Lolo on October 16, 2025. While we grieve the loss of Lolo, we find solace in knowing that he is now at peace.
Ricky was born July 8 1952, in Hanover, PA son of the late Raymond and Sylvia (Perocho) Cleary.
He was preceded in death by his wife Andrea Cleary, his brother and sister in law, Francisco and Florida Rubio, his brother Raymond Cleary Jr, his sister Sylvia Anne Wilson, and his brother Robert Cleary.
Ricky is survived by his sons, Christian and wife Belinda of Hanover Pa, Cory of Eugene OR, Aaron and his wife Katie of Fredericksburg VA, Jordan and his wife Callie of Stafford VA. Grandchildren Courtney O’Grady, Zoie Kiick, McKenzie, Reagan, Conrad, Brynn, Adalyn and Cooper Cleary, and his sister Rosa Linda and her husband Larry Stallings of La Grande, OR.
Lolo was a man of few words, but when he did speak, it was always accompanied by a joke. His humor was timeless, his timing impeccable, and his love for family was truly unmatched. He never missed a moment that mattered—sporting events, graduations, first holidays in a new home—if it was important to you, he was there. Quietly supportive, fiercely loyal, and always ready with a joke.
Lolo’s legendary garden always produced an abundance of vegetables, far beyond what anyone could possibly need. Yet, he never let that stop him. And if you or your friends found yourselves waking up at his house on a weekend, you’d be greeted with breakfast and zero judgment. That was Lolo’s way—an open door, an open heart, and extra bacon.
Lolo, thank you for making life a little less serious and a lot more joyful. You’ll always be the reason we smile a little more, laugh a little louder, and dance without a care in the world.
Please give Lola a big hug from us—and save us a spot on the dance floor.
