Rita was everybody’s friend. A loving, caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loving wife of 57 years of marriage to the love of her life, Walton Leon Kimble.
Rita was a kind and caring lady who deeply valued her family and friends. She worked as a Secretary of Plant Operations at Loudoun Memorial Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia and remembered those years fondly.
She was also a founding member of Woodlawn Little League (Women’s Auxiliary) in Alexandria, Virginia.
Rita was most proud of being both a Master Quilter and a Master Gardener. In her spare time, she loved reading, watching British mysteries, working crossword puzzles, and loved watching the NFL football games, especially the “Redskins” while doing her handwork in her lap. And she loved anything with dinosaurs. But her true passion was quilting. She worked alongside her mother and her friends in their quilting circle and over the years the group donated thousands of quilts to the NICU at Mary Washington Hospital through Project Linus. Rita also found time to ensure her family was supplied with holiday quilts, quilts to celebrate births of grandchildren, great grandchildren and anniversary quilts.
Rita was the middle child of five siblings born to William Haberly and Lauretta Coyle Haberly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walton Leon Kimble; her mother, Lauretta Kimble; father-in-law, Walton Hammond Kimble and her sister, Rosemary Knyucky.
She is survived by her three children, Robert Kimble, Katherine Kremnitzer (Dan), Linda Kimble (Anthony); six grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as her two beloved brothers, Richard Haberly (Barbara) and Edward Haberly (Gloria).
