Ben was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert "Snookie" Hancock Jr; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Snyder, Linda Forrest; and son, David Hancock.
Survivors include brother, Rudy Hancock; daughters, Vickie Brant, Kim Cottrell; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Ben worked for Brede Washington in Beltsville, Maryland as a carpenter and foreman for 35 years. He retired and relocated to Sarasota, Florida. He loved football and was a loyal Washington Redskins fan.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia, 22401. Reception to follow service.
