Rocky Leroy Hutt was born on December 14, 1956 to Ralph Duane Hutt and Nina Freemyer Hutt in Haxtun, Colorado. He passed away peacefully with his wife at his bedside after over a decade's long battle with Huntington's disease on May 31st, 2022.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Ivy Lee Morris Hutt, his daughters; Ellen Hutt Carter Nicholas (Jared), Julia Katherine Hutt (Michael Herbert), Mary Hutt Botkins (Jason), Edith Hope Hutt (Rob Calton), and Anna Hutt Bledsoe (Jonathan); grandchildren, Benjamin Elden William Hutt, Caleb James Duane Oden, Grayson James William Nicholas (in heaven), Ethan Peter Franklin Carter, Joseph Victor Hutt, Claire Theodora Hope Nicholas, and Rose Marie Bledsoe.
Rocky is survived by his brothers, Ty Thompson, Trevor Thompson, Emory Hutt; sisters, Naomi Marechal and Gidget Rosemond.
He is preceded in death by his brother Tad Thompson.
Rocky graduated from West Rowan High School, Mt Ulla, North Carolina in 1975. He was a US Army Veteran, of A Company 519th Military Intelligence as an Interpreter and Translator from 1976 to 1979. Rocky was the owner of Falls Church Nursery. He spent 28 years as a manager and salesman of Ford Trucks and Motor Vehicles. As a Freemason of the 33rd Degree, he put service first throughout his life. Rocky was a man with the absolute highest level of integrity and honor. He led by example, supporting his fellow man without hesitation, demonstrating his strong faith while singing in the choir, and loving his family deeply. He always had a smile ready for you, paired with an exceptional sense of humor; it was effortless to share a laugh with him. He thoroughly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. A man of many talents such as a carpenter, farmer, hunter, landscaper, builder, fisherman, salesman and so on, he excelled at all of these designations and more. But most of all, he was a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather. Rocky's mighty presence is profoundly missed and there is peace and solace knowing he is in heaven with Jesus.
