
Roy was born in Halifax County, North Carolina on December 5, 1947 to Clarence McCoy and Ernestine (Lowe) Hunter.
He retired from General Motors in Fredericksburg. He had a love for his church family, and was a loving and caring husband , father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was always a willing, helpful, neighbor and friend. He loved life and especially fishing. His love for his savior, Jesus Christ, was evident to all that knew him, and he was an inspiration to us all. He was never hesitant to share, even with a stranger, that “God is my Strength”. He was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Hunter; 2 daughters, Ronda(Wayne)Milby and Rayna Burrell; 5 grandchildren, Ryan and Levi Sedoris, and Nikolas, Joshua and Britnee Burrell; 3 brothers, Rudolph(Renee)Hunter, Lenwood (Evelyn)Hunter, Joseph(Deborah) Hunter; 1 adoptive brother, Roosevelt(Phyllis)Jackson; 3 sisters, Mildred(Charlie) Silver, Dorothy(Bobby) Silver and Carolyn (Dwight) Whitaker; uncle, Arlanders Lowe and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 29, at the Spotsylvania Church of God 12240 Five Mile Rd. Fredericksburg at 1PM with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.
