He is also survived by one brother, Bruce (DeeDee) Stuhlman and his daughter; one sister, Martha (Vincent) Bacanskas and her two sons; and 10 grandchildren, three of whom he shared a special relationship with, Sharai, Shanna, and Jalen and four of whom he helped raise: Kaden, Quinn, Harley and Raegan Spear, they were his heart.
In his professional life, Roy worked in the compressed air industry for over forty years. After a number of years in industrial compressor sales in the Northeast, Roy was recruited in 1982 to develop the sales force at the newly established Kaeser Compressors in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Roy’s initial focus was to build a nationwide distribution network. He brought his years of experience and expertise, which was a critical element in establishing a foothold in the US market and then developing Kaeser into a major competitor.
Roy was also instrumental in developing Kaeser’s extensive training program, developing a highly professional sales force with both his technical expertise and his belief in doing what was best for customers. He is well remembered for his knowledge as well as being a dynamic and entertaining speaker. Acting as both teacher and mentor to students and other instructors, he made a lasting positive impact on countless people throughout Kaeser and its national distributor network.
In his thirty year career at Kaeser, Roy served as National Sales Manager and then Vice President of Sales. After retiring in 2011, Roy spent many additional years consulting and training at Kaeser. Roy was well known and highly regarded throughout the industry.
