Tim will be remembered for his strong faith--he carried his well-read Bible with him everywhere. The son of a professional trumpet-player, Tim had a deep appreciation for swing era music and enjoyed talking with visiting musicians. Tim was fascinated by the weather and loved to talk about the prevailing winds and expected forecast. In his early years, Tim was an avid collector of butterflies and moths and of old coins. Tim's wry sense of humor endeared him to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by children Elizabeth Gibbs and Paul Mason, sisters Penelope Medley and Victoria Slis and grandchildren Mariah Gibbs, Alvin Gibbs, Samantha Gibbs, and Isabell Gonzalez and by a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Carol Zschiesche and father Reynold Lee Mason. May he rest in peace and know he is in a better place.
The family will hold a private memorial service in Stafford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim's memory to NAMI-NorthernVirginia.org .
