Toni Lynn McKenzie

It is with great sadness that the family of Toni Lynn McKenzie announce her passing. Toni Lynn McKenzie, aged 26, of Stafford, VA passed away while surrounded by her loved ones on January 13, 2023 due to complications from pneumonia. Toni’s family has ensured her legacy will live on not only in their memories, but also through the gift of organ donation, which allowed Toni to save four other lives.

Toni always loved drawing and making handmade cards for her loved ones to celebrate birthdays and other special events. She loved the color purple, cookies, and her regular stops at Dunkin with Selicia. She loved her nieces and nephews so much and always enjoyed spending time with them.

Toni was born to parents Gregory McKenzie and Ida Lynn Jeffery, on September 3, 1996 in Dallas, Texas. Toni moved to Stafford, VA as a young child and graduated from Colonial Forge High School in 2015.

Left to cherish her memory are her father, Gregory McKenzie; three brothers, Michael McKenzie and his wife, Caitlin McKenzie, Detrick Beasley and his wife Selicia Beasley, Damon Beasley and his wife Jennifer Beasley; two sisters Shannon “Nicole” McKenzie and Donquenick Joppy; nephews, JaShaun Beasley, Cameron McKenzie, Jrue Beasley; nieces, Chloe Joppy, Caleigh McKenzie, DeJah Beasley, Maliyah McKenzie; uncle, Damon Beasley; aunt, Jacquelyn Sutphen; and many others including uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and close friends that were like family to her.

Toni is predeceased by her mother, Ida Lynn Jeffery, and her sister, Tiffany McKenzie.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and other staff at Mary Washington Hospital who did everything they could for Toni during her time in the SICU.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Toni, which will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Toni’s name to FASD United and register as an organ donor.
