Wanda Jean (Fox) Deitemeyer went home to be with her Lord on November 29, 2021. Wanda was born on December 1, 1948, in Fostoria, Ohio, and passed away in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 51 years, Robert Allen; two daughters, Christina Jean Brocato (Troy) and Bethany Reed Blanc (Jeffrey); and five grandchildren, Allison Blanc, Khili Brocato, Christian Blanc, Ariana Brocato, and Massimo Brocato. Wanda is also survived by her sisters Mildred Basinger and Linda Kuhn, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo Reed Fox and his wife Aurelia Alma (Yost), and four siblings, Peggy Law, Donald Fox, Donna Gaertner, and Robert Fox.
Wanda was a graduate of Arcadia High School in Arcadia, Ohio, and Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, from which she received a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She became an elementary music teacher in the Spotsylvania County School System in 1995 and worked in that position for sixteen years, retiring in 2011.
Wanda was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and held the offices of regent, registrar, and chaplain in the Spotsylvania Chapter as well as offices at the state level. She also was a member of the James Monroe Chapter Daughters of 1812 and of the George Mason I Chapter Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. Wanda volunteered for ten years at the Central Rappahannock Heritage Center and also volunteered for Fredericksburg From the Heart, creating various knitted and sewn items given to ill and needy people.
Wanda was a former member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church where she served as choir director from 1985 to 1995. She later became a member of Spotsylvania Baptist Church, serving as choir director (1995-2006) and later as a choir member and church treasurer until her passing. She also was a member of the Women on Missions.
