Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Steedman Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Jack was born on August 2, 1925 in Steedman to Albert and Blanche Hopsecker Powell who preceded him in death. He was married to the late Lucile Vestal on January 21, 1961 at the Courthouse in New London, Missouri.
He attended Cotton Rock School in Callaway County and then drove a truck for several area trucking companies including, Clyde Holland, Ralph Dawson and Elton Hensley. He then worked for Mertens Construction for sixteen years.
Jack was a real lover of antiques, particularly old cars and old tractors. He was an avid gardener and in his later years, he began to restore vintage bicycles.
Jack is survived by one sister, Alberta M. Bradley of Fulton; two nephews, Albert Powell and Wendall Powell along with twelve nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Powell.
