Clarence Cameron Carter

He was born June 19, 1938 in DeSoto, Missouri, the son of the late Ancel A. Carter and Mildred Zimmerman Carter.

Clarence was also known as “Pudgie” and “Clarabell”. He was a graduate of the State of Missouri on September 8, 1961. He joined the United States Navy, May 14, 1959 and was commissioned on the USS Charles H Roan (DD-853). After his tour he reenlisted August16, 1963 and was stationed in Annapolis, Maryland where he was later honorably discharged. He later attended and graduated from Central Missouri State College in 1970. He then joined the Rolla, Missouri police department. He also worked for several years at the Fulton State Hospital.

Clarence is survived by brothers, Harold Carter (Mary) of St. Louis, Arthur Carter (Juanita); ex-wife Glenda Thomas, wife, Sandra K. Carter.

Clarence also leaves to cherish his memory four daughters; Nathaya L. Carter Colon (Jose) of Middletown, Rhode Island, Meiko R. Butler Carter (Frank) of Jacksonville, Florida, Michelle D. Carter, Clarrissa Carter; sons, Ancel A. Carter II of Washington, D.C., Juan M. Carter of Newport, Rhode Island; grandchildren, Nyesha Lewis Carter, Jamal Carter ( Amanda), India Johnson, Jeff Smith, Hayward Johnson III, Ancel A. Carter III, Timeka A. Carter Peer (Lito), Timothy Peer II, Enlincio Lewis, Markus Sampson Carter, Claude Hampton-Carter, Claudesha Hampton-Carter, Antoine Carter, Tyjuan Carter, Ben Lopes, Kevin Lopes, Brent Carter-Mills, Juan Carter II, Ashley Rios, Javon Rios, Day Carter, Ammar Carter; 21 greatgrandchildren; step-daughter, Margie Nevins and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at, 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, with officiating. Burial will follow at DeSoto City Cemetery in DeSoto, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 until the time of service at the funeral home.
