

Harold Edwards was born in Bowling Green, Missouri on September 3, 1923, to Lula and Barry Edwards. Harold attended Bowling Green public schools through 8th grade. Upon graduation from 8th grade, he moved to Fulton, Missouri with his mother Lula. Harold attended Lincoln University High School in Jefferson City, Missouri. After graduation, he was drafted in 1942 by the US Army for duty during World War II. While in the army, Harold served his country and was stationed in North Africa, Italy, Japan and Alaska. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon return from service Mr. Edwards started working at Westminster College and worked under various capacities including becoming the head of maintenance. He was awarded a retirement plaque from Westminster for his 41 years of service in 1995. After his full retirement from Westminster, he worked part time at Presbyterian Nursing Home.
Harold married Bertie L. Cason of Fulton, MO, in 1964. They were both hardworking and loved each other dearly. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Saint James United Methodists church for many years during which he served as Head Usher. Harold was preceded in death by several brothers and one sister, Daughter, Janetta Edwards; Son-in-Law, Charles E. Bell; and Wife, Bertie L. Edwards. He is survived by his Son, Harold B Edwards of Kansas City; Daughter-in-Law, Joanne DiFidi; two granddaughters, Angelina and Andreanna Edwards; three grandsons, Harold R. Edwards, Lee Edwards, and Hadley Edwards; and two nephews, Robert and David Childs of Fulton.
Visitation will be Friday, February 26th from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 pm at Saint James United Methodist Church with services starting at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Callaway Memorial Gardens immediately following.
