

John Clinton McCracken, 81, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on July 26th, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota due to heart failure. He was born June 30th, 1930, in Seattle, Washington. The son of the late John and Wave McCracken, he was the oldest of 4 siblings.
On May 25, 1952, he married Barbara Anne ‘Babs’ Lutz, who survives.
For over 26 years, John served all around the world in the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he was employed for 15 years by the Sedalia School District in Sedalia, Missouri as a master carpenter, retiring in 1993. John was a gregarious and fun-loving husband, Dad, Grandpa, brother, and friend. He enjoyed working with his hands, fixing cars, collecting stamps, antiques and trains, eating good steak and fudge bars, and watching every John Wayne and good war movie he could get his hands on. He was a patriot and particularly loved his time while serving his country.
He has 1 brother, 2 sisters, 8 children, 26 grandchildren and 8½ great-grandchildren.
A viewing and service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1603 Kingswood Drive in Fulton, Missouri on Tuesday, August 2nd. The viewing will be from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 2:30. Burial will take place following the funeral at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton. John wants to thank everyone for all the love shown to him and his family throughout each step of his life including the beginning, middle and end. Rather than donate flowers, John would rather you buy a friend lunch, fill out an organ donation card or simply make a call and tell someone you love them.
