

Velda (Vicki) K. Beggs, 75, formerly of Bonaparte, Iowa went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, November 3, 2017. Vicki was born in Bonaparte on September 9, 1942 to Clarence and Dorothy (Hogan) Workman. She married Hollis Lee Beggs there on April 10, 1985. After his death, she moved to Missouri and then later to Florida, to be with her daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren.
Vicki was a member of First Baptist Church in Bonaparte, Iowa; Fulton, Missouri; and Blountstown, Florida. She worked as a nurse’s aide for 40 years in nursing homes throughout Iowa, including Good Samaritan Center (Keosauqua Health Care Center) in Keosauqua, Iowa. She was also employed as a Van Buren County home health care aide for many local Iowa residents.
Vicki will always be remembered for her sweet smile and loving heart. People were drawn to her gentle nature, kindness, and generous service. She put other’s needs ahead of her own and worked tirelessly to help in all circumstances. Her love for Jesus and her enthusiasm for people, life, and God’s creation inspired others to see things a little brighter every day.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hinnah (husband Richard & three grandchildren) of Bristol, Florida; her sister, Carolyn Rex (husband John & family) of Fulton, Missouri; and her brother, Clarence Workman (wife Trudy & family) of Bonaparte, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Kathleen.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November, 8th, 2017 at Bonaparte Cemetery in Bonaparte, Iowa.
