

He was born July 22, 1931 in Briscoe, Missouri, the son of the late Fredrick Simmons and Zona Fowler Simmons.
On April 9, 1955, he married Myrtle Mitchem Simmons who preceded him in death.
Most of William’s career was in the maintenance business. He was retired from Carboline Industry, Hentges Tree Service and custodial service in the Hatton School District.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering with antiques. William was a kid at heart and loved his grandkids as well as other children. He was an active man who always had a smile and a joy for life.
He is survived by his sons, William Simmons Jr. of Fulton, Michael (Lynn) Simmons of Platte City; daughter, Debra (Jeff) LeSieur of Columbia; grandchildren, Gayla LeSieur, Ginger Weseloh, Danielle Simmons, J.D. LeSieur, Jessica Noonan, Emily Simmons and great-grandchildren, Jay Michael Noonan, Anthony Smith, Davis Weseloh, Isabell Smith, Zoey Noonan, Howie Weseloh, and Austin LeSieur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Rita Simmons; brothers, Jim and Vernon; and sisters, Ruby Mitchem, Mary Estes and Edna Kilburn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 28, 2014, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, with Pastor Gary Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, March 27, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
