

Funeral will be at 6 p.m. tonight at Collier-Butler Chapel for Alice Fay Ferguson, 76, of Gadsden, who died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015. Revs. Michael Alford and Walter Bates Jr. will officiate. Graveside services will be at Corinth Memorial Gardens, Loganville, Ga., on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at noon Central/1 p.m. Eastern. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.Mrs. Ferguson was born and raised in Gadsden, moving to Georgia after her marriage, where she lived most of her adult life. Fay returned to Gadsden several years ago, where she lived in north Gadsden with her niece and her husband, Rev. Michael and Becky Alford. Fay was passionate for her love for animals and was a member of the Humane Society. She retired from Sears and Roebuck Company and was an avid Alabama football fan. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Ferguson Sr.; parents, William and Ailtie Woodall; and several brothers and sisters.She is survived by her son, Ralph "Chip" L. (Jennifer) Ferguson Jr.; two grandchildren, Dylan and Olivia Ferguson; sister, Earline Smith; all of Georgia, brother, Raymond Woodall of Gadsden; and many nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be friends and family of Mrs. Ferguson.The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice, Greg Lee and Nichole McCarver; special caregivers, Kristy "Sissy" Williams and Breonica "LilSissy" Edgeworth, Donna Jones and Taylor Wood.The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. tonight at Collier-butler Funeral Home prior to the service.
