

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Christ Central Methodist Church for Burnis Ivan Howard, 88, Regency Point, Rainbow City, who passed away Thursday, February 06, 2014. Rev. Sherri Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Howard was born in Laurel County KY on July 12, 1925 and proudly served as a US Marine during World War II. He was a longtime resident of Gadsden, Alabama; president of Alabama Tool and Die Company; a member of Christ Central Methodist Church where he a member of The Friendship Sunday School Class and served as past Treasurer ; and a member of The Gadsden Kiwanis Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death first wife, Thelma Langdon Howard.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestyne M. Howard; children, Linda (Larry) Ferguson, of Fort Mill, SC, Joyce (Herb) Burton, of New Hope, Al, Sharon (David) Davidson, of Williamson, GA, Jeff (Terri) Howard, of Raleigh, NC; Mike (Judy) Robertson, of Southside, AL; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother; Olin Howard, of Oak Ridge, TN; and sister, Thelma Lucas, of Dayton, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Central Methodist Church Building Fund or to The Big Oak Ranch at www.bigoak.org.
The family will accept friends from 1:00-2:00 at the church prior to the service on Saturday.
