Callister Thomas Atchley

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Callister Thomas Atchley, 9 years old, of Attalla, who passed away Monday, June 2, 2014. Dr. Roger Beshears will be officiating. Interment will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Callister was only with us for nine brief years, but his huge heart, sweet personality and big sense of humor touched many people in a very special way. He loved Jesus and he loved to read the Bible. Whether it be by doing a good deed, giving an inexpensive gift or just sharing one of his funny stories, Callister's unselfish heart found real joy in knowing he had made someone else's day a little better. Because of these things and so much more, Callister's legacy will live on in everyone's heart forever.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Bates; father, Chris Atchley; sister, Alexandra Atchley; brother, Paul Atchley; grandparents, Tom and Wanda Bates, Patricia Woodburn and Larry Atchley; great-grandmother, Thelma Jeffrey; uncles, Thomas (Emily) Bates III and Brian (Kasey) Bates.

There are too many to name, but the family would like to express how grateful they are to anyone who prayed for or showed support in any way possible to the family during this difficult time.

The family will accept friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
