

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Carrie Lasseter Wallen, age 47, Southside who went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 30, 2016. Blake Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Williams-Southside Memorial Park.
Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Carrie was born on November 21, 1968 and was a lifelong resident of Southside where she graduated with the class of 1987. She attended Gadsden State Community College where she earned her degree in nursing. Carrie always knew since she was a little girl that she wanted to be a nurse. Carrie was a born care-giver and always loved her patients and anyone else who she cared for. She loved her family, especially her 2 boys, who were the lights of her life. Carrie loved going to her boys ball games and she loved fishing. Carried loved the outdoors and loved going to the beach. She will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends. Carrie was a member of Rainbow Church of Christ. She loved her church family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Lasseter and brother, Tommy Lasseter.
Carrie is survived by her husband; Mike Wallen; sons, Sam Wallen and Alex Wallen; mother; Virginia Lasseter, brother; Paul (Ginger) Lasseter, sister; Susan Lasseter, brothers and sisters-in-law; Terry (Allison) Wallen, Beth (William) Cather and Stanley Stroup, nephews; David (Jessica) Lasseter, Will Stroup, Will Cather, Jackson Lasseter and Drew Wallen, nieces; Mandy (Greg) Spraley, Kathryn Cather, Kate Wallen, great nephew; Luke Contris and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Rainbow Church of Christ,2201 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901.
The family requests no flowers or plants be sent. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to “The Greatest Thing Campaign” at Rainbow Church of Christ, 2201 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden AL 35901.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home and from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday.
