Catherine Eulala Holland

Catherine Eulala Holland, 84, died October 1, 2013. Born Catherine Eulala Smith, Lala to her friends and family, on April 17, 1929 in Gadsden, Alabama. Reared in Bowling Green, Florida, where she graduated from Hardee County High in 1947. She returned to Gadsden in 1951 where she met and married Woodard Gene Holland in 1953. She was a member of East Gadsden Baptist Church from 1953 to present. She worked for the City of Gadsden for 23 years, first for the Water Department and later in Data Processing.

Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Smith and Lou Emma Gribble Smith, her son, Woodard Jefferson Holland, who died June 10, 1963, and her husband Woodard Gene Holland who died September 15, 1988.

Her survivors are son, Randall Gene Holland, daughter-in-law, Bibb Hallmark Holland, granddaughters Rebecca Bibb Holland and Sarah Elizabeth Holland; sisters, Ola Rebecca Ezell, Alice Alberta Whidden and brother-in-law Jeremiah Pete Whidden, brother, Albert Shadrach Smith, sister-in-law, Barbara Rouillard Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, from 3:00-4:00 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, with funeral service at 4:00. Rev. John Dickinson will officiate.

Pallbearers will be: Joe Saxon, Lee Saxon, Jody Thompson, Donald Rhea, Whit Torbert, Kim Whitt, and Roy McCord.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church.
