Connie Lynn Walden

Alabama. Connie was a lifelong resident of Gadsden and a member of Southside High School,

Class of 1979. She lived her life as a dedicated Christian and attended Twelfth Street Baptist

Church. Connie departed this life on January 27, 2022. She is preceded in death by her mother

and father L. A. and Catherine Walden, brother Wayne, sisters Peggy, Pam, and Cindy, and niece

Jennifer. She leaves behind to grieve her sisters, Doris, Elsie, and Debbie, a host of nieces and

nephews, and beloved cats Boo-Boo and Lovey. Connie was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend.

She dedicated her life to caring for her mother and sister and did so with a selfless heart.

Pallbearers will be David Wayne Thornhill, Donovan Thornhill, Harry Chesser, Jerry Powell,

Benjamin Kiser, and Steven Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Endress, Greg Endress,

Terry Harris, Derrick Heath, Michael Teat, and Jayden Cox. In lieu of flowers, donations may be

made to the Etowah County Humane Society, Snellgrove Civitan Center, or the American Heart

Association. Funeral services will be provided by Collier Butler Funeral Home with the burial to

follow at Tillison Cemetary in Gadsden, Alabama. The service will be conducted by Pastor Thomas

Winborn. The family will accept friends and visitors on Sunday, January 30, 2022, beginning at

1pm. There will be no graveside service. The family would like to thank UAB Cardiology and

Connie’s lifelong friends Blanchie, Vicky, Anita, Shasta, and Saratha.
