

Funeral services will at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Cora Jean Mackey MacMillan, 66, who passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Rev. Taylor Gallman, Rev. Bill Brunson, and Pastor Tommy Marshall will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. MacMillan was born and raised in Etowah County and graduated from Emma Sansom High School. She was a member of the Bellevue United Methodist Church. She retired from General Forrest Middle School after 23 years of service. She was known as Miss Mac by the kids at school. She had a genuine love for her students and was an advocate to help the less fortunate and she treated all her friends as family. Cora’s humor and love will be missed by those who came in contact with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Edna Mackey; sister, Nancy Mackey Bannister; and niece, Bridgett Kidd Brunson.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen J. MacMillan; sons, Stephen “Mac” (Gerri) MacMillan, and Michael (Tanya) MacMillan; grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) Goza, Zac Humphries, Ashton (Kade) Pennington, Timothy Humphries, Seth MacMillan, Kalee Humphries, and Lauren MacMillan; sister, Candy (Bob) Igou; brother, Norman Padgett; sister-in-law Alice (Sonny) Kidd; chosen brothers, Terry Harris and David Waites; “Allie”; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Mayes, Brent Lawley, Grey Biggs, Kade Pennington, Josh Goza, Zac Humphries, Seth MacMIllan, Timothy Humphries, and Tony Kidd.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
