Daniel F. Wood

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday-December 22, 2011 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Daniel F. Wood, age 73, Gadsden who passed away Sunday-December 18, 2011. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Dan was a native of Anniston and a longtime resident of Gadsden. He was a 1957 graduate of Anniston High School, where he played football, and a graduate of Jacksonville State University. He was a life underwriter agent for Liberty National Life Insurance Company with 25 years of service, and was affililated with Life Of Alabama Insurance Company, Columbus Life Insurance and represented several other insurance companies. A member of the Fiesta Club and the Northeast Alabama Dance Club where he had a host of friends. He was dedicated to his Christian Faith and lived it daily. His parents preceded him in death, Marvin F. and Naomi Wood.

Survivors include his sister, Nancy W. (Nathan) Hamlin, Munford, AL

Brother, Michael F. (Dot) Wood, Pell City, AL

Very Special Friend, Jo Marks and Family, Gadsden, AL

Several nieces, nephews, dance club friends and other special friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Anniston High School 1957 Class.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to any favorite charity or HIS Answer Ministry, P. O. Box 624, Munford, AL 36268.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
