He was born on Oct. 31, 1950, in Albany, N.Y., to Louie and Joan Norman.
David grew up in Hokes Bluff, Ala. He graduated from Gadsden High School class of 1969. Those who knew him knew he was active in athletics, winning the state championship in wrestling. David went on to marry the love of his life, Caroll Dill Norman, on Aug. 23, 1975, in an intimate ceremony at the home of her parents, Elmer and Anne Dill. David often enjoyed playing golf, finding great bargain deals (a pastime he has spread to many family and friends), and being the ultimate grill master. He was a loving father and husband and will always be remembered as our dear "BoomPa."
David was preceded in death by his father, Louie Thomas Norman; grandparents, Rimon and Gola Norman and George and Helen Woodcock; parents-in-law, Elmer and Anne Dill.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Caroll Norman of Gadsden; his children, Matthew David Norman, Lauryn Elizabeth Norman and Ginger (Jonathan) Ryan; his siblings, Lynn (Bruce) Gustafson, Mark (Cindy) Norman and Phillip Norman; and lastly, a very special grand dog, Moose.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Gadsden on April 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. with visitation an hour before.
