

Dorothy Jean McClellan, 83, of Gadsden, Alabama unexpectedly passed away on August 25, 2016 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1933 in Lincoln, Alabama to the late Claude Watson McClellan and Mamie Lee McClellan. She was a kind and loving sister, aunt and friend that will be greatly missed. Dorothy had a productive twenty-seven year career as an analyst with the Department of the Air Force. She loved living in Carmichael, California were she spent most of her career. More defining than her career was her love for her family, friends and compassion for anyone in need. In her free time she loved to read, spend time with her family and watch Atlanta Braves’ baseball.
She is survived by her brothers: Elmore McClellan and Billy McClellan of Gadsden, AL and numerous nephews and nieces.
She is predeceased by her parents Claude & Mamie McClellan; her sisters Eleanor Dugdale and Mary Livermore; and her brothers Gaylon McClellan and Louie McClellan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at the Collier Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Gadsden, AL. Pastor Tommy Marshall will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.
