

Faith became sight for Dorothy Faye Jordan Watts, 87 of Southside, on September 20, 2017. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Matt Rose and Rev. Chris Terrell will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Dot was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and was a member of White Springs Baptist Church for decades. She especially enjoyed her Ladies of Grace Sunday School Class.
She was a faithful wife, mother, and Mu Mu to her family. She loved using her gifts of hospitality and generosity to care for her family and friends. She was a devoted homemaker and her family especially enjoyed the home cooked meals she prepared for them. She enjoyed gardening, and she had an eye for antiques. She quietly touched many lives with her love, compassion, and concern.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Watts, her grandson, Dash Watts, and parents Arthur Jordan and Daisy Jordan. She leaves behind to treasure her memory her children, Jimmy and Kelly Watts, Brett and Florence Watts, and Bart and Susan Watts; her grandchildren: Jay and Kristen Watts, Summer and Jesse Putman, Christopher Watts, Sam and Kami Watts, Jill and Reed Chambers, and JoBeth Watts; Great-grandchildren, Campbell and Colby Watts, Hattie and Solomon Chambers. Her sisters and brothers-in-law: Bonnie and Robert Bragg and Freda and Jim Hickey. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Reed Chambers, Jesse Putman, Campbell Watts, Christopher Watts, Jay Watts, and Sam Watts
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Woodland Place Assisted Living and Amedysis Home Health and Hospice who took exceptional care of Dot.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to White Springs Baptist Church.
We love her and will miss her, but are comforted by knowing she is with Jesus. She is experiencing complete joy, with no more sickness or pain. We know that she having a long awaited reunion with many loved ones who went before. It is well with our souls.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am-1:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
