Edward "Ben" Benny Weaver, Jr.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Edward “Ben” Benny Weaver, Jr., 80, who passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014. Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Weaver was born in Cedartown, GA and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1952. He then received his degree in Building Construction from Auburn University in 1956. In 1957 he married Marie Weaver. He was drafted in the Armed forces and served in the U.S. Army. Although he retired from Dawson Building Contractors, he worked for several other construction companies throughout the years. He was a member, Deacon, and former Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Gadsden. He was an avid hunter, loved fishing and Auburn Football. Most of all, he was very devoted to his family and four grandchildren.

Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Benny Weaver, Sr. and Mary Jane Burkhalter Weaver; and brother, Roy Leonard Weaver.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie Weaver; son, Eddie (Susan) Weaver; daughter, Penny (Marc) Walley; grandchildren, Adrienne Walley, Ben Weaver, Madison Walley, and Dan Weaver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gadsden.

The family will accept friends from 11:00 am- 1:00pm Saturday, prior to the service.
