Eunice Marie Menninger

Eunice Marie Harris Menninger, 88, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2010 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Forrest Mausoleum Rev. Jim Wilson will officiate. Visitation will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home from 12pm until 1:30pm. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Menninger; parents, James M. and Wilda McMurray; brother, Marvin McMurray; sister, Elva Bearden.

Marie is survived by her son, Ronnie R.(Cheryl) Harris of Jacksonville; step-son, Gary Menninger of Gadsden; step-daughter, Barbara Lawley; brothers and sisters, Nolan (Ann) McMurray, Faye Chandler and Weeda Bell Chamblee; sister-in-law, Mary McMurray; grandchildren, David Bradley Harris, step-grandchildren, Mark Menninger, Hannah Menninger, Deavin Menninger, Cheryl Steele, and Christy Jett ; great grandchildren, Raine Harris, Ryleigh Harris, Carson Harris; step great grandchildren, Holley Roebeck, Daniel Crowder and Ashton Steele; special friend Billy Slovick of Pittsburg, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie retired after working at AT&T for 32 years as a telephone operator in Anniston, Albertville, and Gadsden. She was a member of Central Church of Christ and a graduate of Geraldine High School.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers, 6th floor staff of Riverview Regional Hospital, Drs. Virenjan Narayan, Jeremy Goodwin, Daniel Ryan, 4th floor staff of Northeast Regional Medical Center, Dr. Carla Thomas and staff at Mountain Cove Assisted Living.

Pallbearers will include: Tony Chandler, Alan Chandler, Brad Harris, Mark Menninger, Gerald Bearden, David Bearden and Steve McMurray.
