

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with her nephew, Rev. Forrest Page officiating. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services will direct.
Eva was raised in Cherokee County, AL, then moved to Etowah County, AL at age 17 and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1945. She married Mr. John Robert Dunn on April 5, 1947 and they spent 65 wonderful years together, most of those residing in Glencoe, AL. She was a longtime member of Glencoe First United Methodist Church and the Annie Chastain Fellowship Sunday School class. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Glencoe chapter #446 since 1978 where she served 3 years as Worthy Matron.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John R. Dunn, parents William S. and Nora Rooks, sisters Essie and Ruby Rooks, Ruth Kimbrell, Josie Tarpley, and Martha Hale, brothers Luther, Lucious, and Bill Rooks.
Survivors include her children, Fred Dunn, Harrison, TN and Debbie (Greg) Cobb, Glencoe, AL, grandaughter, Shea (Jamie) Poole, Ohatchee, AL, great grandchildren, Josiah and Johanna Poole and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Gilchrist and The Annie Chastain Sunday School class.
Heartfelt gratitude and thanks is extended to the Nurses and staff with Amedisys Hospice and Gadsden Regional Medical Center CCU.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
2 Timothy; 6-7 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
