He was an avid Auburn fan, loved golf, and Friday lunch at Pruetts with his friends. However, he was most passionate about his work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. He was also involved with the United Way, Auburn Alumni Association, and Quarterback Club for many years. He will remembered most as a devoted husband, father, and Gdaddy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Hand Gantt; daughter, Candace (Trey) Bennett; and three grandchildren, Frank, Gantt, and Ellis, who he loved dearly.
There will be a memorial visitation from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at Keystone Bank to help with medical expenses or to your favorite charity.
We would like to express our gratitude to all of the friends who have loved and supported us over the years.
