Gene Townely Waters

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Gene Townley Waters, 90, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, October 20, 2014. Rev. John Allen will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Waters was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a member of East Center Baptist Church in Centre AL. She was, most of all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert E. Townley, and W. F. “Bill” Waters; sisters, Lillian McCullom, Odessa Perkins; and brother, Ed Johnson.

Mrs. Waters is survived by her sons, Don (Sharon) Townley, and Ben Reed Townley; grandchildren, Re Townley (Mike) Davis, and Robert (Terra) Townley; great-grandchildren, Jessica Townley, Jena Hudmon, Jade Hudmon, Kaylyn Townley, and Jordon Townley; great-great-grandson, Kamdon Townley Hood; chosen son, James “Bud” (Joann) Waters and many other loving family members.

Pallbearers will be: Don Townley; Robert Townley; James “Bud” Waters; Mike Davis; J.D. Hill; Ben Reed Townley; and P.R. Hill

Honorary pallbearers will be John David Hill; Bob Waters, and Joe Waters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your church or favorite charity.
