Glen D. Blythe

Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Glen D. Blythe, 89, Gadsden who passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012. Rev. Larry Garrard will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing. Mr. Blythe was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Hokes Bluff Masonic Lodge. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 30 years of service and was a veteran of the U S Army serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ann B. Blythe and daughter-in-law, Gail Blythe.

He is survived by his son, Eddie Blythe and daughter-in-law, Ann Blythe, daughter, Glenda Ashley and son-in-law, Steve Ashley, grandchildren, Cindy (Chuck) Johnston, Allison Blythe, Annette Blythe, Steven (Leslie) Ashley, Beau (Ashleigh) Ashley and Ryan Ashley(Rita Townsend), great grandchildren, Dylan Johnston, Buzzy and Henry Ashley, Garrett, Morgan, and Chandler Ashley, brothers, Gene Blythe, Clyde Blythe and sister-in-law, Bettye Blythe and a host of dear nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Macedonia Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Steven Ashley, Beau Ashley, Ryan Ashley, Steve Ashley and Chuck Johnston.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Brown, George Martin and the residents and staff of Mountain Cove assisted living.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
